A Step Towards Inclusive Education
Project Overview
The Socially India Included Foundation (SIIF) launched the “Badte Kadam” project in 2019 in collaboration with the District Administration and Basic Shiksha Adhikari of Gautam Buddha Nagar. This Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) initiative focused on comprehensive educational transformation across 18 government schools in Bisrakh Block, Uttar Pradesh.
Project Objective: Enhance education quality through integrated interventions covering infrastructure, pedagogy, and community engagement.
Project Impact Summary
Beneficiaries:
- 18 government schools adopted and supported
- 1,313 students participated in STEM learning programs
- 22 teachers received professional development training
- Program Delivery:
- · 65 interactive workshops conducted in science and mathematics
- 2,000+ educational kits distributed for hands-on learning
- 2 community engagement sessions held with parents and families











Teacher Professional Development
Teacher Enrichment Workshop (September 2019)

Community Engagement
Parent Interaction Sessions
- Target Group: Parents (primarily homemakers and unemployed fathers)
- Objectives:
o Encouraged daily 15-minute educational conversations with children
o Explained project goals and expected learning outcomes
o Built family support for educational initiatives




Infrastructure Assessment Findings
Baseline Challenges Identified:
- Inadequate classroom furniture and boundary walls
- Limited access to safe drinking water (primarily hand pump sources)
- Insufficient functional toilets with running water
- Low availability of computers and laboratory facilities
- Safety concerns in playground areas
Project Outcomes
Quantitative Impact:
- 18 schools directly benefited from comprehensive interventions
- 65 interactive educational workshops successfully delivered
- Over 2,000 learning kits distributed for sustained impact
- 1,313 students and 22 teachers received direct program benefits
Project Status and Future Plans
COVID-19 Impact: The project was discontinued in March 2020 due to pandemic-related restrictions.
Planned Expansion (Post-COVID):
- Enhanced Teacher Training: Addition of child health and creativity modules
- Student Skill Development: Introduction of Spoken English and Life Skills programs
- Community Engagement: Expanded parent and community workshops
- Infrastructure Development: Basic facility upgrades in partner schools
