NTTF Skill Training Project 2018-2019
Project Overview
The Socially India Included Foundation (SIIF) partnered with NTTF through a formal agreement signed on September 21, 2018, to implement a specialized skill training program for trafficking victims.
Program Implementation
Duration: March 2018 – March 2019 (12 months) Beneficiaries: 23 candidates
Training Structure:
- Foundation Course: 3 months (designed by Justice and Care partners)
- Technical Skills Training: 9 months in trades including Welding, Electrical, and Fitter
- Assessment and Certification: All trainees successfully completed and received certification


Project Outcomes
Educational Progression: Most trainees expressed interest in continuing their education and relocated to Bihar with their families to pursue further studies.
Employment: One trainee secured employment in Bhiwadi, demonstrating the program’s effectiveness in creating livelihood opportunities.
Support Services
Family Engagement
SIIF Field Counsellor Randhir Kumar conducted regular home visits to maintain family connections:
- November 2018: Visited 19 homes, successfully met 17 families
- Additional Outreach: Connected with 2 families via telephone
- Family Response: High satisfaction levels reported; multiple families requested training opportunities for their other children
Specialized Support Services
Educational Assessment Visit – November 24, 2018 Ms. Barkha Mohan, Special Educator and Counsellor, conducted an evaluation to address learning challenges:
Key Findings:
- · Some trainees showed reading difficulties and behavioral challenges affecting their technical training progress
- · Academic assessment revealed pre-primary level functioning with limited sound-symbol recognition
Interventions Provided:
- · Conducted motivational sessions using storytelling techniques to build confidence and recognize individual strengths
- · Recommended structured phonics program combined with regular counselling
- · Provided guidance to technical training staff on effective student management approaches
Project Impact
This collaboration successfully demonstrated an integrated approach combining technical skill development with educational support and family engagement, resulting in positive outcomes for trafficking survivors and strong family satisfaction with the program.
